=head3 1. Download and install SIP Voip Settings Tool

This application adds missing VoIP functionality to your E52, you can
download it from L<Nokia
site:|http://www.developer.nokia.com/info/sw.nokia.com/id/d476061e-90ca
-42e9-b3ea-1a852f3808ec/SIP_VoIP_Settings.html> select "SIP VoIP 3.x
Settings (164 kB)" option and press "Download" button. This will
download SIP_VoIP_3_x_Settings_v2_0_en.sis file.

<I>Note: Nokia site may require you logged in before allowing the
download. If this happens, you can register as a developer using "Join"
link (it is free) or you may send us support request from your
L<personal control
center|https://www.diamondcard.us/login>.</I>

After you receive .sis file, transfer it to your mobile with e.g. USB
cable and run it from File Manager. This will install the application.
After the program is installed, reboot (power cycle) your phone, go to
Menu > Ctrl.panel and check if "Net Settings" application has been
added to the list.

=head3 2a. Create your SIP profile (simple way)

Go to Menu > Ctrl.panel, run Net settings application, go to
Advanced VoIP settings > Create new service then select Create new
SIP profile option.

Username: Your_AccountId#@sip.diamondcard.us

Password: Your_Pin_code

Press OK, your SIP profile will be saved as sip.diamondcard.us.

If you want better control over SIP profile settings, use 2b below.

=head3 2b. Create your SIP profile (more complicated way, better
control)

Use this method if you want finer control over SIP settings, skip this
step if you created your profile with 2a above.

Menu: Ctrl.panel > Settings > Connection > Sip Settings.

Select: Options > New SIP profile > Use default profile

Profile name: Diamondcard

Service Profile: IETF

Default Destination: Internet

Default Access Point: MyNetwork [NOTE: if you define

this, you will

have to have

MyNetwork defined

as an access

point. Leave this

setting as "None"

to select access

point later.]

Public user name: Your_AccountId#@sip.diamondcard.us

Use Compression: No

Registration: When needed

Use Security: No

Proxy server settings - leave untouched (all fields filled with
"None").

Registrar Server Settings

Realm: sip.diamondcard.us

User Name: Your_AccountId

=head3 3. Activate your SIP profile

Menu: Ctrl.panel > Net Settings

Select: Options > Advanced VoIP settings > Create new service
> You SIP Profile Name

The program will suggest "Activate Profile" - activate it, the mobile
will search for available data connections and suggest you to select
one. After that it will try to register with our service. When your
phone registers, leave Net Settings program and try to make a test
call.

=head3 3. Making a test call

Dial 441 and press "Net call" button (right top soft key). After
hearing a voice prompt assess sound quality.

=head3 4. Making Internet calls

To make an Internet call either dial desired number and press "Net
call" button or select a contact from Contacts list, press right
navigation key and select "Internet call" option. If Internet call
service is not activated yet, follow mobile's prompts to establish
Internet connection and activate the service. Once activated, Internet
calls service remains active until you de-activate it.

<I>Note: Do not disconnect active Internet connection without
de-activating Internet call service: it will cause your phone to freeze
and you will have to power-cycle it.</I>

=head3 5. Disconnecting Internet calls service

To disconnect the service, go to Contacts, press left navigation key,
select your SIP profile name from the list, press Options and select
"Deactivate service".

=head3 Hints:

1. Before placing an Internet call, make sure your Wi-Fi network (or 3G
connection) allows UDP traffic through ports 5060 and 49152-65534.

2. When you make a call through
L<DiamondCard.us|http://www.diamondcard.us> service, destination
numbers must start with country code, without leading "+", "00" or any
other prefixes or interventing characters, for example, to call US
number (777)123-4567, just dial: 17771234567.

3. If sound quality is not good (choppy sound, big delays), launch Net
Settings application, go to Advanced VoIP settings > VoIP services,
select your SIP profile, go to Codecs, press Options and remove all
codecs but PCMU and PCMA: these codecs provide the best quality but
require a good bandwidth. For lower bandwidth and lower quality use
G729 codec. Removed codecs can be restored later with Add option of
Options menu. By default Nokia E52 uses iLBC codec which provides poor
quality. Codecs tech.info could be found on L<Nokia
site|http://www.developer.nokia.com/Community/Wiki/Introduction_of_S60_
VOIP_Codecs> (may require developer's access). Depending on your
Internet connection, setting of L<QoS|QoS> might also help.
